About The Study
Both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes can be difficult to manage. Monitoring your blood glucose levels many times a day can become a disruptive and painful process. This clinical research study is aimed at characterizing the safety of the FreeStyle Libre Glucose Monitoring System (a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system) in children and young adults (ages 4 to 30).
Participants will utilize the FreeStyle Libre Glucose Monitoring System to manage their diabetes for 6 months while maintaining a diary of any hypoglycemic occurrences over the course of the study. Most study activities can be completed remotely using a mobile phone application.
Study Criteria
To qualify, participants must:
- Be 4-30 years of age
- Have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes for at least 6 months
- Currently use a self-monitoring glucose monitor to manage their diabetes
- Not have used a continuous glucose monitoring system to manage their diabetes within the last 6 months
Why Participate?
There is no cost to participate and health insurance is not required to participate. Eligible participants will be provided with the FreeStyle Libre CGM for 6 months at no cost. Additionally, participants will be compensated up to $535 for completing the study.
